Frequently Asked Questions
How do we install the software?
We offer a full walkthrough/guide to assist with the initial installation as well as provide documentation HERE to assist with any advanced settings. Once installed the program will check for the latest update and then walk you through installation on the main server which is ideally running 24/7. We also have our tech support team to help with installation in person or over the phone. Our goal is to make sure you are up and running as quickly as possible.
What devices are supported and minimum requirements?
We currently support Microsoft Windows and Apple MAC devices. This will be cross-compatible as well, meaning you could have a Windows PC at the front desk whilst the rest of the office are on MACs. Please note that the latest supported operating systems from Microsoft and Apple would be required.
Will antivirus, firewalls or anything else interfere with this?
EXHAIL has been tested with all the major AV applications out there and we are adding more to our tested list. As we live in a world where there are thousands of apps, programs and potentially outdated operating systems there is always the possibility that something could be causing an issue with compatibility. That said, our technical support team will assist with a full installation and audit to ensure that everything is running smoothly and correctly. On top of this, our team will support you with any new programs purchased in the future that could potentially cause issues.
What happens if the internet goes out?
One of the many great features of EXHAIL is that once installed correctly on your network it will NOT be impacted at all by any type of internet outage. This means that if an incident does occur during this time ALL users will still have the ability to send and receive alerts.
What if I accidentally sent an Alert, can I cancel it quickly?
Yes, you only have to simply Double-Click the icon again for it to be cancelled. If done within the first 30 seconds an automatic message will be sent informing other computers that this particular incident has been cancelled.
How much detail can I put in the reports?
EXHAIL is designed with flexibility in mind based on the size, scale and depth required for your reporting. It can be as simple as an incident occurred with a time stamp to further details such as type of incident, threat level, how it was resolved and more. This reporting will assist in further discovering problem areas and times in your business.
I already have a physical panic button next to each staff member, why is this better?
The key difference is that EXHAIL is discreet. Specifically, when someone is already sitting in front of a computer with their hands on the mouse and keyboard. A simple double click will not alert any onlooker or cause suspicion. As such, we believe it will not cause a difficult situation to escalate even further.
Where is the EXHAIL button/icon located?
One great feature is that the EXHAIL button/icon can be located wherever that individual user likes. The idea being that it is “hidden” in the mix of all the other desktop icons that usually clutter most setups. Further to this, the icon will actually always be “ON TOP” of any other program/window as well as have easy access on a multi- monitor setup. If you wish, you can even reduce the icon to only be used in the hidden icon tray to have an even cleaner setup.
Can we purchase a one-time licence?
We currently offer a 12 x month subscription in order to maintain the application, provide future updates as well as offer ongoing customer support.
Can’t find the client installation?
Client installs are on the root URL, for example http://localhost:5000
Can I enter a URL for the server address?
No, the server must be an IP address.
